Giselle Benatar

 

Giselle Benatar is a versatile digital marketing and communications leader with 20+ years of experience building multi-platform engagement programs – across social, email, websites, search, and earned and paid media – to fuel growth for purpose-driven organizations. She spent nine years growing the International Rescue Committee’s digital program, taking it from a single site and 10K social fans to four global sites, 2+ million social fans, and $28 million in annual online revenue. Prior to the IRC, she helped build successful online membership services for Weight Watchers International and Consumer Reports. Giselle enjoys working at the intersection of marketing and communications, fundraising, advocacy, and technology to find new ways to make an impact.

Carla Cunha

 

Carla Cunha brings over nine years of digital marketing experience to the Faircom NY team. Previously at Strawburry17, she crafted scripts and ideas for YouTube videos with a 1 million subscriber base, interviewed YouTubers, and ran her own blog series called NerDIY. At Montclair State Campus Recreation, she helped re-brand and strengthen their digital presence on social media, web, and email. She offers a unique and personalized approach to digital marketing implementation and strategy. She holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration and a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology. Additionally. she is a volunteer Communications Coordinator for the American Sociological Association’s Consumers and Consumption section.

Rachel Fleishman

 

Rachel Fleishman, Senior Associate at Sandler Search, specializes in leading and supporting searches in Sandler’s Jewish and Israel-related practice as well as a focus on development and executive level placements.

Prior to Sandler Search, Rachel served as Development Associate at Penn Hillel. Rachel also previously managed the Observership Program at UJA-Federation of New York, where she placed 180 emerging philanthropic leaders on nonprofit boards and committees.

Rachel holds a BA in Sociology from Bucknell University and has always enjoyed volunteering in the nonprofit sector, especially for Girls on the Run and Educational Alliance. She serves as Board observer at the 14th St Y.

Christa Orth

 

Christa Orth (they/she) is the Founder and CEO of Seaworthy Fundraising, a consulting practice providing joyful strategy and implementation for community-centric individual and major giving programs. Christa has close to 25 years fundraising experience and has created more than 100 development programs through her staff development roles at StoryCorps and Streetsblog, and as a consultant to social justice nonprofits like Astraea Lesbian Foundation for Justice, Campaign for Southern Equality, Drama Club, First Peoples Fund, GRID Alternatives, and Neighbors Link. Christa is a proud member of the President’s Council of Women In Development. She also serves on the Fundraising Day in New York Steering Committee and is Co-Vice Chair of the Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Access Committee of AFP-NYC.

Virginia Fay Pack is the Senior Director of Partner Success at FreeWill, a startup offering fundraising tools to nonprofits, most recently to facilitate cryptocurrency donations. She has a background in marketing, communications, and relationship management, and has built expertise in transformational giving vehicles over almost five years working across almost 1,000 nonprofits with FreeWill.

About the Speakers

Megan Driscoll

 

Megan Driscoll is the CEO + Founder of EvolveMKD, a New York-based public relations and social media agency. She has 20 years of experience in healthcare, aesthetics and dermatology, and prestige beauty. Megan has cultivated relationships with physicians, consumers, key opinion leaders and tastemakers to gain her clients national level recognition. Accolades include PRWeek’s 40 Under 40, one of 12 women chosen for The Ernst and Young Entrepreneurial Winning Women class of 2018 and first ever recipient of the Early Career Achievement Award from her alma mater, the University of Chicago.

Megan believes that volunteering, spreading kindness and giving people opportunities is part of everybody’s responsibility. As she’s gained success with EvolveMKD, Megan has made it her mission to donate a minimum of 10% of profits to charities annually, as well as hold volunteer days for EvolveMKD employees to give back to the community. To date, EvolveMKD has donated over $1M to charities. In addition, Megan serves on the board of Safe Horizon, a victim assistance nonprofit based in New York City.

Nicole LaFountaine

 

Nicole LaFountaine is a real estate investor and Founder & Executive Director of Straighten Your Crown Productions, a company dedicated to cultivating and developing creative projects rooted in the message of inclusivity, authenticity, and embracing one’s true identity. Nicole has always followed the principle that WE RISE BY LIFTING OTHERS and through The LaFountaine Family Foundation, founded with her mother and sister, she is devoted to several philanthropic organizations. She sits on the Leadership Council of Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS; is treasurer of The Fire Island Pines Arts Project; a Benefit Committee Member for The Fire Island Dance Festival through Dancers Responding to AIDS; and is a board member of the Glen Cove Boys and Girls Club, where she created a mentoring program to transition high school students into college, trade schools, and the workforce. Nicole is also an avid animal lover involved in many dog rescue organizations and has six rescue dogs herself. She resides in Blue Point and Fire Island Pines, NY.

Chimene Liburd MD, MBA, FACP

 

Chimene Liburd MD, MBA, FACP is a physician executive with multifaceted expertise in healthcare management, inpatient and outpatient primary care, chronic condition management, healthcare improvement initiatives, and patient health and wellness. Dr. Liburd is currently a healthcare consultant who mentors young startup founders, physicians and students interested in medicine. She most recently held the position of Vice President of Clinical Operations and Chief Medical Officer, Medicare Advantage for Anthem, Inc. During her tenure, she led a multidisciplinary clinical team of 750 associates responsible for the utilization and case management for 1.1M members in 20 states.

Prior to joining Anthem, Dr. Liburd led a team of physicians at Executive Health Resources, who successfully argued medical necessity cases in front of an Administrative Law Judge.  Dr. Liburd also maintained a thriving internal medicine practice with two office location for over eight years. Dr. Liburd received a bachelor’s degree in Spanish from Cornell University. She then obtained her Doctor of Medicine from the University of Maryland, where she later also earned an M.B.A. She is a Board Certified in Internal Medicine as well as a Fellow of the American College of Physicians.

Dr. Liburd has been actively engaged, as a Life Member, in volunteering with the Psi Epsilon Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., an international sorority founded in 1908. She supports many of the projects within the local community like toys and PPE for our adopted school, a potato farm crop and harvest, mental health workshops, evening of jazz education and music, to name a few. Additionally, she has volunteered with Medicine in Action and treated patients in the mountains of Jamaica West Indies. Her dedication to her alma mater Cornell University continues with her active participation and philanthropy through the President’s Council of Cornell Women (PCCW), a group of highly accomplished alumni working to support women’s issues and advance Cornell University’s founding commitment to inclusion with a focus on gender equality in various academic and professional fields.

Ann Louden

 

As a nonprofit executive in higher education for more than thirty years, Ann Louden is the founder and CEO of Ann Louden Strategy and Consulting. Recognized for her expertise in board development, volunteer management, campaign planning, and donor stewardship, Ann provides seasoned counsel to chief executives, staff, and volunteer leadership.

Responsible for raising more than $150 million to benefit the nonprofit community in Texas and now in New York, where she relocated five years ago, Ann’s primary interests are education, healthcare, the arts, social services and adoption. For twelve years, she led and was the spokesperson for a breast cancer advocacy initiative that engaged thousands of survivors, volunteers and medical providers. With a mantra of bringing big ideas to life, Ann focuses on identifying the compelling vision and then creating a goals-oriented plan for execution.

An in-demand national speaker for the Council for Advancement and Support of Education, Ann is the recipient of the Steuben Excellence in Teaching Award and has been named as a CASE Laureate. She is the author of the upcoming book: From Social Courage to Connection: Lessons from Leaders Who Change and Save Lives.
