The 2024-2025 WID Career Advisor Program

  • Are you a new development professional seeking career advice?
  • Do you have program-specific questions about your work?
  • Would you like feedback about making a job change?

Any of these are great reasons to register for the WID Career Advisor Program!

Open to any member as a benefit of membership, the WID Career Advisor Program provides a match with a seasoned WID professional for a one-hour, confidential conversation. You and your WID advisor will decide whether to meet virtually or in person.

Advising sessions will take place in late January through late February. You will receive contact information for your advisor during the last week of January 2025.

Deadline for registration is Monday, December 30th. This is a first come, first served opportunity, so register early before all advisee/advisor slots are committed!

What past participants in the WID Career Advisors Program said about the experience

Advisor: “I really enjoyed getting to know my advisee and helping her think about how best to utilize her skills in her current development role. We also discussed what she might want to consider doing next in the field to move up the career ladder.”

Advisee: “My advisor was so helpful. Her years of experience provided a whole new perspective about my workplace challenges. She saw opportunities for me where I only felt frustration. I now have a clearer idea of what I can do to move forward and master my current responsibilities. “

Advisee: “The WID Career Advisor Program is the greatest benefit I have received from my WID membership. Not only did I establish a fantastic professional connection with my WID advisor for the future, I also learned a lot about the New York area philanthropic community. Invaluable!”

Advisee: “I am so glad I registered for the WID Career Advisor Program. My advisor and I just clicked! Although her work is in a different area of development than mine, she was terrific at helping me understand the larger scope of our profession. I really valued her advice.”
